To be in the Top 10% of the wealthiest people on Earth, you only need a net worth (assets minus debt) of approximately $130,000. Which means, if you own a home with some equity or have a modest 401k/savings account—congratulations—you are officially in the global “ruling class” of wealth.
You’re 12x richer than half the planet if you earn just $30,000 a year.
Nearly 40% of the world (3.4 billion people) lives on less than $6.85 per day. If you earn just $30,000 a year, you are making roughly $82 a day. This means that you are out-earning nearly half the planet by a factor of 12.
If your individual annual income is over $60,000 USD (after tax), you are officially in the Top 1% of earners on the entire planet.
I know it’s not quite the six figure we all put on your vision boards, but truly, you’re richer than you think. And I hope your thoughts start reflecting that. Your vibration should be “I am the 1%,” because the data proves it.
If you have access to high-speed Internet—RICH.
In high-income countries, 84% of us have 5G. In low-income countries, it’s only 4%. Which means if you have a fast connection, you have the tools to build an empire from your couch that billionsof people don't have the bandwidth to see, literally.
J.D. Rockefeller was poorer than you. (Well, sorta.)
Sure John D. Rockefeller was the richest man in American history (worth an estimated $400B in today’s dollars), but did you know that he lived a life “poorer” than yours?
He died without ever knowing the existence of penicillin, the internet, air conditioning, or Netflix. You have access to medical miracles, instant global communication, and climate-controlled rooms that the wealthiest man in history couldn’t buy with all his billions. You are living with resources that the elite of the past could only dream of.
A few final stats worth noting…
On a less money related point, did you know that 45% of the worlds population still does laundry by hand, roughly 1.7 billion adults don’t even have a bank account, 60% of the worlds population lives without a safe, private toilet, and 1 in 4 people lack access to safe drinking water?! ‘Cause if you didn’t, now ya do.
And hopefully that gives you some perspective next time you’re shaming yourself for not being a millionaire yet, wondering if you can afford the vacation, or simply beating yourself up for ordering takeout because you were too tired to cook (again).
